The company operates two primary segments: Infrastructure and Marketing. Its Infrastructure segment includes a network of terminals, rail loading and unloading facilities, gathering pipelines, and a crude oil processing facility. Key assets include the Hardisty and Edmonton Terminals in Canada, which serve as principal hubs for aggregating and exporting crude oil and refined products from the Western Canadian Sedimentary Basin; the Gateway Terminal in Ingleside, Texas, connecting the Permian Basin and Eagle Ford Shale to global exports; the Wink Terminal in Texas; and the Moose Jaw Facility in Saskatchewan. The Marketing segment involves the purchasing, selling, storing, and optimizing of hydrocarbon products, including crude oil, natural gas liquids, road asphalt, roofing flux, and distillates, primarily in Alberta and Texas. The company sources products from Western Canada and the Permian Basin and markets them throughout Canada and the United States. Gibson Energy was incorporated in 2011, though its predecessor, Gibson Petroleum Marketing Company Ltd., was established in 1953. The company holds a partnership with USD Group for the Hardisty Energy Terminal and diluent recovery unit.
